The Morrigan
Morrigan is the Celtic, but specifically Irish, goddess of war, strife, and fertility. She’s associated with the crow, and they were viewed to be her messengers over a battlefield. In legend, she is portrayed as a crone goddess, although at times she is also portrayed as a triple goddess, consisting of two other goddesses (Badb and Macha or Nemain). Morrigan is the origin of the stories of The Washer at the Ford, who predicted who would die in combat. In her crow form, she would act as a psychopomp, leading the souls of the fallen on to the after life.
Something you may have noticed by now, is my tendency to gravitate towards deities involved with war and death. I admit that initially, that was my draw to The Morrigan, she quickly showed me that she was much, much more than that. She’s intelligent, no-nonsense, and protective of those she deems worthy of her attentions. It is important to tread carefully when dealing with her though. Respect is essential. You don’t want to end up like Cuchulainn.

I’ve stood in front of the mirror for hours waiting to fall in love with my body.
Once I quieted the world, I finally saw the beauty.
